Bicycle Accident*. Concussion. Cut on the head. Issues with Jaw. Back injury

Thirty-seven-year-old Jan was hit by a car while riding on his bicycle. An accident* happened in Mullingar, Co Westmeath on 7th November 2016. He was going from his house to his workplace. Jan got to an empty roundabout. He passed the first exit and was heading toward the 2nd exit. When Jan was exiting the roundabout, he was hit by a car which was behind him. Jan was thrown with force on to the bonnet and then landed on the street.   Liability The driver got out of a car and saw Jan lying on the road. He asked Jan how he is and apologised for what happened. Jan complained on the pain in his back and his head. Case Study– Work accident* (Fracture to a shoulder bone)   25-year-old Ciara was working as a cleaner in a hotel in Dublin. The accident* happened on 5th of June 2017. Ciara went to a changing/locker room to put on work clothes as usual. There was not much space in the room. Hangers with employees’ clothes and other items were on the open doors of the lockers. Ciara started to change clothes for work. She opened the locker, removed her work clothes, and kneeled to tie shoelaces in her shoes. While doing so she slightly leaned against a heavy wooden unit which fell with impact on her. She only managed to cover her face. Recent cases in the High Court

Murray Flynn Solicitors have significant experience in assisting members of An Garda Siochána in compensation claims*. Recent cases in the High Court include the following:    Our client sustained a broken little finger when a perpetrator resisted arrest. It was necessary for him to attend hospital, but he did not have to undergo surgery. The High Court awarded him €20,000.00 for the injury. Our client sustained dental injury when his patrol car was deliberately rammed by a perpetrator. The cost of dental repair was included in a €30,000.00 award in the High Court. Our client sustained a fracture to his dominant hand when a perpetrator resisted arrest. Once again, he did not require surgery and took approximately three months to return to work. Case Study– Soft Tissue Injury (Whiplash)   30-year-old Marius was involved in a road traffic accident*. The accident* happened on 15 th December 2018. He was driving a blue Mercedes. Next to Marius sat his wife Anna. They were going shopping. As Marius was coming to a stop at a red light a white van coming from behind failed to break and collided at speed with the back of his car.   Liability Immediately after the crash a driver got out of his car. Our Client Awarded over €153,000.00 for his back injury. Slavomir Spes v Wincanton Ireland Ltd. Congratulations Slavomir!   Slavomir came to Ireland in 2005 and started to work as a General Operative (Picker) in a warehouse. Case Study– Accident in public place - fracture   On 17th September 2019 fifty-eight-year-old Maria tripped and fell on an uneven footpath while walking down a street in Dublin. The accident* happened when Maria was going home from a pharmacy. There was a slab missing from a path where there was a small stump of a tree sticking out. She caught it with her toe and fell on her outstretched hands and onto her left knee. The accident* happened during the late hours of the day.   Liability Maria provided us with a photographic evidence showing a slab of concrete removed from a footpath. At the time of the accident* it was quite dark, and the lighting was poor. There was a witness who saw what happened and provided a supportive statement. It was likely that the Dublin City Council would deny liability in this matter and seek to place some of the responsibility for...
